omg! LOL. Sony, AT&T need to sit it down...lol. I am sitting here on a Sunday watching tennis matches on the Pacific Open, and these My Music Maniac commercials keep coming on during breaks. They are advertising the Sony Ericsson W580 Walkman® phone, so naturally out of curiosity I went to website. The avatar type animated figures dance on the commercials and you can build your own "Maniac" character with associated features...lol, what a great marketing campaign/tool. The commercial is effective, because it prompted me to go to the website to see what was behind these characters.

The "Maniac" character shows one with an afro with an afro pick sticking in the "hair." Now I have not seen anyone with an Afro Pick walking around with it stuck in their afro since the 70s. Then there is this character which does the booty shake. LOL, now who was in the board room drumming up these brilliant ideas(j/k)...lol, I would have loved to see the creative minds team giving their presentation on this product. I am quite sure these products will sell like hotcakes. My, the smiley face has truly evolved. They have taken it to a whole new level.

1cellphone.jpgOver the weekend I was in a department store and there was a lady on the phone in the women's clothing department. She happened to be on her cell phone. Along came a lady with three young kids probably all under 9 years old and they were misbehaving, just a litttle bit.

They were being somewhat unruly in the form of hiding under the clothing racks and chasing each other as if they were playing tag. Not too noisy, but apparently noisy enough for the lady on the cell phone. She told the woman with the kids in an elevated tone, "I'm on the phone! Can you tell your kids to be quiet!?" The woman with kids just responded, "Excuse me?" and gave the cell phone lady a dirty look. The cell phone lady just rolled her eyes, kept gabbing, and sifting through the clothes on the rack. I was just snickering under my breath.

She had some nerve to tell someone to shut their kids up, because she is ON THE PHONE, in a PUBLIC SETTING....LOL, I don't condone violence, but I see why some people get...

Hi tech rollerskates...lol, but this sounds like a good deal for some of us lazy folks. I guess you really don't have to be lazy, but I like the idea. And I can see some problems, similar to kids rolling around in the mall with rollerskates or skateboards. But for people who want to save on gas to get to a place which may be a bit too far to walk say 5 or 6 miles...this is an alternative form of transportation.

Specifications: weigh approx. 11.8lbs per pair, battery operated, recharges in 2 hours. I don't know if there are weight restrictions. BIG folks may want to inquire. The iShoes have a top speed of 13.5 mph and cost around $600, but don't worry, like everything else, once enough volume is sold and competition starts, the prices will plummet. So be on the lookout.

There is nothing more unattractive or hurtful to my eyes than a grown man spending time with his Xbox. Correction... a grown man and his grown friends hogging the TV, huddled around the living room furniture or floor playing Xbox for hours. I do not think I could ever marry or date an XBoxer. When I was growing up, we had Atari, that was fun, and I outgrew it. Then along came Nintendo, Game Boy, and other games. At some point, we are supposed to outgrow these games, right?

The reason I mention Xbox is, that it plays a role in the strain in many relationships. Some men are addicted to playing Xbox games, and do not even realize it. Addicted? When many people think of addiction, they think of gambling, alcohol, drugs, shopping, food, or perhaps even sex addictions, but gamer addiction is growing, especially online gaming. Many people are in denial and do not seem to think they have a problem. They rationalize and say things like, “Well, I am not out cheating,” or “At least you know where I am. I am at home with you,” or worst, “I’m just having harmless fun.”

Sony's "The Reader"

| | Comments (0)

I was reading the NY Times, saw a full-page ad on the back of the section C, and thought I was looking at a Palm Pilot. It was not. It turned out to be Sony’s latest gadget, The Reader.

The caption read, “Carry a stack of books in one hand.” This caught my attention. They have a new book reader. No…someone won’t will carry your books around and read them for you…lol-- It is an electronic gadget which allows you to go digital with your reading.

The Reader weighs less than 9 ounces and is ½ inch thin. If you aren’t a reader, and don’t like carrying books around, this Reader looks like a good solution. Probably would make a great gift for students, commuters, bible readers, those who fly often or have plenty of idle time.

It holds about 80 books at one time and you can select from 15,000 titles. There must be something you can find to read on the list. I did not notice any audio capabilities. http://www.sony.com/reader
