The couple with their new baby pose for an upcoming issue of OK! Magazine. This photo was spotted in the NY Post yesterday. You will have to wait for the issue to hit the newsstands to get your copy. I could not help but to check out the fist and knuckles on the little tyke. He is going to be a strong kid. Congrats to the lovely couple.

If you get your hands on a copy of the NY Post, there is a beautiful picture of Laila with her husband and their seven weeks old baby son. aaahhhh, and they named him Curtis Muhammed Conway, Jr. Laila is working out those endorsement deals. Here she is in a Palmer's Cocoa Butter Commercial. I just love the smell of the stuff.

Wow. The last time I saw Cheyenne Wood's was when she was about 10 years old on a television program. She is the daughter of Tiger's half brother, Earl Woods Jr. and Susan Woods, and she is a talented freshman at Wake Forest University and on the golf team. Her college coach says she will have an immediate impact on the the team, and although she is THE Tiger's niece, she seems to be humble. I don't know how talented she is, but at least all of the excessive hype ala Michelle Wie, eludes her so she can focus on her game.

Serena is #1 in the world again

If you stayed up late last night to watch Serena play Serbian tennis star Jelena Jankovic in the U.S Open you already know Serena Williams beat her in two sets to capture her 9th Grand Slam title. Serena ended the matches jumping for joy like some of us did when we were a kid and got everything you wanted for Christmas or a birthday. It was touching to watch her take back her crown.

Now Jelena...lol, took over the microphone AFTER she was already addressed and acknowledged during the awards ceremony, and couldn't see to stopping talking, hogging the mic, putting heavy grip over the announcer's hand when it was clear they had moved on to and addressed Serena. For me, it was slightly annoying and mildly comical, but I think nerves got the best of her, and she was still in denial that match was over. As she stated, she wanted to continue to play.

Jankovic was like that pesky fly you try to swat at a picnic that would never go away. She fought hard, but Serena was the better player last night. I think she really was taking away from Serena's moment, when she starting ranting about "how much money do I get?" I don't know whether she was trying to be funny, or just could not restrain herself from expressing the frustration she felt. I have never witnessed this level of rudeness at a tropy ceremony. Speaking of money Serena picked up $1.5 million dollars for her first place prize and that puts her at #3 on the all time money list for women's professional tennis players.

With all of the tension during the match I was hoping grudge matches weren't in the future for the two, but

According to recent reports, Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield is facing foreclosure on his $10 million dollar suburban Atlanta mansion and AP reports:

"the mother of one of his children is suing for unpaid child support, and a Utah consulting company has gone to court claiming the boxer failed to pay back more than a half million dollars for landscaping.

A legal notice that ran on Wednesday in a small local newspaper said Holyfield's estate will be auctioned off "at public outcry to the highest bidder for cash" at the Fayette County courthouse on July 1. The 54,000-square-foot home - located on Evander Holyfield Highway - has 109 rooms, including 17 bathrooms, three kitchens and a bowling alley.

Meanwhile, Holyfield's handlers allegedly told the mother of one of his children that he will no longer be able to make his $3,000-a-month support payment. Toi Irvin claims the boxer has already missed two payments, so she has gone to court seeking restitution." READ MORE...

What do they do will all of that money they make? Whatever happened to investing?

Man oh man, I hope this isn't true. They are my favorite tennis players. But the reality is, there are many blacks that don't patronize other black owned services or businesses. There is an excellent interview over at Black Tennis Pros blog with blackprofessional tennis coach, Morris King, Jr., photo'd with Richard Williams. King has coached the sisters in the past and here is what he had to say on their hiring practices:

Q: What did you like the most and the least about working with Richard Williams and his daughters?

A: The opportunity itself is what I liked the most. What I liked the least I cannot say due to the agreement. But I will say that I don't like the fact that the sisters, since having reached their majority age (meaning that they make their own decisions due to adulthood) ONLY hire whites, unless the person is a family member.

I am one of those Blacks that was arrested in the 60's for protest marching so that there could be a Venus and Serena Williams as world champions. I was a mere 12 years old when I went to jail (juvenile shelter) so that our people could have the opportunity to achieve success. Does anyone actually believe that I and others placed our lives on the line so that Black folk could have opportunity, then, in turn, give away any resulting opportunities to others, when there are exceptionally competent, talented and professional Black folk available who need a break??? This is a very obvious manifestation of a hidden and deeper self-hatred.

Twelve year old Oregon student, Jaime Nared was kicking the boys' butts in basketball, and parents started complaining…LOL, supposedly, as a result, a no-mixed gender rule was implemented by the basketball league…LOL. I don’t think the girls should be playing with boys anyway. She looks like a beautiful baby SHAQuila O’Neala, towering over those little boys. Interesting story. Nared is nearly 6'1" and has a goal of being in the NBA, not the WNBA. What's wrong with playing in the WNBA? WATCH VIDEO

Some ABC News reader comments, which I think are more interesting than the actual story:

"It's all about money isn't it? The video was the silliest media circus I've ever seen. I think the ABC News department must be secretly run by Dan Rather! Get your facts straight and start using common sense before you try selling a stupid story like this one! Good grief! I can't wait to see the poor little thing play in the NBA! When some big monster like Ben Wallace fouls her into the bleachers! Would you really want your daughter to do that??? Let her play in the WNBA instead and help that league gain more respect and more fans by showing that she can dominate there."---dad_garland

"Mrs. Nared- Please stop trying to sell the lie that we made any policies based off of your daughter's skill level. These policies were in place before the start of the season and your team's coach signed off on these policies when he registered his teams in the league. He has been told on numerous occasions that these leagues are not co-ed. He should have been honest with you in the beginning. As a private business we DO have the right to run leagues that are NOT co-ed RIGHT? Do you honestly believe that your daughter should be privileged because of her skill level? Does that sound like an argument for equality? As a private business do we have the right to make an all girls league without boys playing in it or does this just apply to the boys? If your daughter is not allowed to play in the NBA will they be facing the headache you have given The Hoop?" ---mattisborn
