1hberryperfume.jpgYes, I can see the very softly, feminine vial of Halle-aroma on the department store counters. I must admit, I loved Mariah’s fun delicious smelling fragrance and I am expecting something classy from Halle. My recommended fragrance names: H., H. Berry, Halle, Halle Berry

Well, according to Women’s Wear Daily, Halle Berry is the latest celebrity to join the Coty Inc. fragrance portfolio of famous people such as: David and Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kimora Lee Simmons, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Kate Moss and Tim McGraw.

Berry’s fragrance products are due to launch globally next year in 2009, and while there is no confirmed report of how she stands to make from the deal, industry insiders reveal that a celebrity deal such as this one usually commands a $3-5 million upfront advance with royalties of 5 percent. The products will first be launched in midtier department stores such as JC Penney, then branch out to the mass market.

Berry in reportedly still under contract with Revlon, and her deal reportedly took the Revlon president and chief executive officer, David Kennedy by surprise. He responded to inquiries, "I am not aware of it. She is under contract with Revlon and she's under contract with us for some time."

And to think. I remember back in the 70s when Coty was that stinky smelling brand that would sit on the shelf but you’d still test it every now and then to see if the scent changed. They must be doing something right.

All I know is, it is going to be Berry, Berry sweet.

Mariah's New Campfire Scent

According to The LA Times, Mariah Carey's new perfume "M" is inspired by:

"The fragrance, she says, is based on various scents that are near and dear to her heart. One is a Moroccan incense; another is a flower called the Living Tahitian Tiare. A third scent, believe it or not, is toasted marshmallows.

That aroma was added because it brought back happy memories of her childhood around the campfire. But she adds: "It's blended in there — it's not like you're gonna walk around smelling like marshmallows." " READ MORE...

It sounds mouth watering...yum, and I cannot wait to smell it.

The network channels refused to air the commercial for P.Diddy's women's perfume "Unforgivable," citing it is too racy. I think it is too racy for television and is more appropriate for the Internet. He may as well do a short film feature on this perfume, because this film reads like a short story.

Check his SeanJohnFragrances.com or MySpace.com site for more information on the fragrance. The female cavorting with him in the film appears to be "exotic" looking, definitely melanin challenged...heh, heh, heh. Wondering if this was a factor also, because something tells me many people aren't ready to see this pairing on television in these positions. With its soft porn innuendos, I am wondering why he needs to star in films like this to sell a fragrance.
