Film on black males: For Our Sons
Here is the first 13 minutes of the film.
From the e-mail box:
"Dear Friends,
Over the past 18 months, we have shown our film For Our Sons to thousands of people across the country (and abroad), from Atlanta, Bermuda, California and Chicago, to DC, Ghana (Africa), New Jersey and throughout the 5 Boroughs that make up New York City.
It is clear from the high praise that it has received and the inspiration that it has produced that this film needs to be seen by a larger audience.

In June 2009, we decided to give the 86 min. DVD away for free, only shipping and handling is paid. Today, I am proud to say that there are hundreds of concerned parents, teachers, social workers, community organizers, etc... who are using, For Our Sons as a teaching tool for reference, resilience and determination in our communities, country wide. It's a great start, but "hundreds" are not enough, our young men (and young women) are struggling to find their way.
Help us spread the word! Show it to the people in your lives, particularly our young people. Also, share this email with your friends, family, colleagues and local radio stations.
Respectfully,
Eric K. McKay"

I don't think that people really realize just how many black men go to jail everyday. It upsets the balance of our community, our families, our homes. It turns into a cycle that for years just has not ended but gotten worse. I think this movie focusing on that issue is a very good idea. Hopefully it will bring the insight that we all need.
