Obama's aunt lives in public housing in South Boston
Local Conservative talk radio is eating this up. His Auntie Zeituni lives on Flaherty Way in South Boston in public housing. Rush Limbaugh says she lives in "squalor," "a slum." How does he know she is living in slum conditions? I have known some low income apartments that have been hooked up.
Does Aunt Zeituni have her own children who should be taking care of her? Was she around when his grandparents took care of him? It has been reported that she sent $5 to his campaign on three separate occasions. There are income requirements for low income housing, and it's not like he lives nearby and can slip her some cash from time to time. She's not going to mess up her living situation.
It could be possible that he has offered money and the woman is too proud. I know someone RIGHT now who has Section 8, is "engaged" to her second child's father and just quit a job, attends school full-time, but do you think she will get married anytime too soon? Getting married would mean a relinquishment of that Section 8 voucher, so that ain't happening anytime too soon.
Another talk radio host says Obama should be ashamed, that he made $4 million dollars on his book deal last year and he should be hitting her up with at least a grand a month. She went on to complain that her taxpayer dollars are taking care of this woman.
I am not an Obama defender, but he pays taxes too. We all subsidize something or someone with our tax dollars. Sounds like sour grapes, because not many were interested in her latest book.

Update 11/1/8: I guess this property WOULD be SLUM conditions for ole Rushbo. Now who looks like the elitist? You can click on the picture in the article to get a better view of some of the housing complex. I'll bet the media tongues are salivating, and she probably has received offers of all kinds of luxury trips and habitat for humanity homes, just to grant an interview for negative comments on her nephew. I read an article that this woman is the HALF-sister of Obama's estranged father (who he had little contact with in his life). I am not sure why the white media is attempting to tie ALL of his Kenyan father's half-siblings to the Barack.
