Alleged Bra stuffing Senator is finally throwing in the bra...I mean campaign towel
Disgraced Massachusetts Senator Dianne Wilkerson has changed her mind, in the midst of pressure from colleagues and area ministers, to give up her write-in sticker campaign for State Senator re-election. Thursday the Senate had asked her to resign immediately and she declined, however, she has elected to terminate her campaigning.
Senator Wilkerson was arrested this week by the FBI on corruption charges following a sting operation where it is alleged she took over $23,000 in bribes during the operation time period. She is on film allegedly stuffing supposed bribery money in her bra.
During her press conference she states:
""As of this moment today though I am certainly announcing the suspension, the termination, cessation -- I want to make it clear that I am ending any further campaign...The discussion that has been swirling around resignation, I am making no decision or discussion about that today, but I will commit to you an announcement on November 5th."

"This is like a marriage that has been in turmoil for a long time," said Horace Small, executive director of the Union of Minority Neighborhoods, which is based in Wilkerson's district. "You've been with her for a long time, and tried to work out your differences. But at some point you've got to say, 'Baby I love you, but I got to let you go.' Breaking up is hard to do."
"We love Dianne, Dianne needs help," Small added. "We'll support her through the changes she has to go through. But right now, we got to move on."
He is right. Those words sound like the lyrics out of a BB King song.
