What does “all-you-can-eat” REALLY mean?

In Frederick, Maryland, Fox News Washington DC reports a group of seven women claimed they were put out of a Barley and Hops restaurant during a seafood and crab legs “All You Can Eat” night, because of their size. The women paid $30 a piece for the feast. According to reports, they had already eaten 64 orders of crab legs.

This reminds me of a good soul food restaurant (went out of business) that had a buffet. I personally know of people who used to take their folded up aluminum foil, Saran wrap, and Tupperware containers. It is just plain greedy. However, if a restaurant offers all you can eat, then they need to stick with their advertised service.

At the same time, there are people who can come in and do some colossal damage to a buffet without stealing/hoarding food to take home. Restaurants need disclaimers, either time limits or “all you can eat” until a certain amount. These women sound greedy gorging themselves on 64 orders. I would not even come on camera if I were hanging with that party that night.

Now, if they were crying over lobster tails, I could understand their plight, and would be supportive of their argument...LOL. READ MORE... Watch Video

Seriously: From a business or consumer perspective, when is enough ENOUGH? And the thought did cross my mind a couple of times: If these women were all black, would they being saying they were discriminated against, because of their size? Or as blacks, do we by default assume, if we are grouped together, out eating as these women were (and all of us were overweight), that we were denied more food because of our color? When it could have been just a matter of eating too much into the profit margin of this business owner. Just passing thoughts...
