Are men MORE into their hair than women nowadays?

I like R&B singer Lloyd and he is just a cutie, a doll and Lloyd probably has not lacked any adoring attention in all of his life. For one, he has curly, silky hair, the type many black women buy for "styling convenience" purposes. But, when I saw this photo, I could not help but shake my head, just a tad bit, and have just a small after thought.

Wait a hot minute. Isn't this a hairstyle you USED see on little girls when you were a kid? The three platt style is now fashionable for young men? I think this long hair trend must have started with West Coast rappers, because back in the early nineties (right after "the curl") these are the first people I started seeing in the media with the braided cornrows, with all of the braids braided from front to back. Thanks Snoop.

I don't know if this has anything to do with Lloyd's upbringing, but in general, I have to wonder is there a correlation between young black men with long flowing, high maintenance locks and growing up in a single parent household headed by a woman? Is this hair fascination a direct result of having missing in action fathers or is this just a passing trend which is perfectly fine?

I think all of this extra attention spent on their hair could have been spent on learning how to properly take out garbage and fine tune garbage management skills, unscrew lightbulbs, how to fix a flat or change windshield wiper blades, or to hang pictures on the wall in a professional looking manner.

I've known men with fathers in the home that have "good hur" like Lloyds and their mothers NEVER want to cut their son's "good hur". A lot of Black men that have long, curly, silky hair like Lloyd's are encouraged to grow it long not only by their mothers but by their management teams if they're in the recording industry like Lloyd. Most Black management teams know that an artist whether male or female with long, silky hair like Lloyd's is an asset in the recording industry. That's why so many Black artists resort to wearing wigs and weaves to achieve the look that Lloyd has naturally. Lloyd's hair is by no means high maintenance cause all the boy has to do is wash and go. I say to Lloyd "you go boy. If you got it flaunt it".

I suppose if you still have hair then its cool to make a big fuss about it but for me I think just the act of combing my hair is already pretty cool. I have so little hair you see :(

Men have lots of craze about women hairstyles. Men with long hair, pony tail and tie the hair back and lose hair.
