Acer has released the Acer Aspire One laptop which starts at $379 and $399 for a version which runs on Microsoft Windows XP home. This is great for those of us on tight budgets or with kids who need to have notebooks handy for school projects or papers.

The laptop is built for speed and for everyday use for the casual user. It comes in colors you can match with your home decor, book bag or office furniture...lol. Love the colors: blue, brown, white, pink. It also holds 80 gigabytes on standard hard drive or 8 gigabytes on a flash drive. Laptops have become affordable for virtually anyone. This makes a nice "first computer" gift for someone who is new to computer technology.
