I was trying to find out what Dave Hollister, former member of BlackStreet, has been up to lately and was a little surprised, but not overwhelmed to find out he is no longer doing R&B. Just the other day I was listening to his old hit “One Woman Man.” I just love that tune.

He does not want to call it gospel and it is not R & B. He did an interview with HoneySoul.com and explains his decision to make inspirational life music.

At one point, the interviewer asks what triggered the switch.

Dave: "One big thing that turned it around and that was my accident in California…that should have left me dead and I walked away without a scar on my body. I should have been dead." Hollister said the car was hanging over the cliff. "I should have fell over the canyon…that triggered it all."

He has no intentions of doing secular or R&B music anymore and adds: “I believe this is where God wants me to be.”

He sound is the same and his new music is good. You can hear snippets of it throughout the interview. Nice interview to download. Hollister’s latest album The Book of David: Vol.1 The Transition was put out in 2006, so we should be hearing something new from him soon. LISTEN TO INTERVIEW
