4/18/8 Update: You know. I had a day to think about this, AGAIN. And I put myself in the other couples' position. I would be pissssed...lol, if I knew Serena Williams sent out mass emails on behalf of my competitor in a contest trip to Jamaica. Who knows how many thousands of people she has on her mailing list...?? I felt kind of guilty, after I posted this post, but I left it up. I guess that's the softy in me. Steve should just send them all, and give the top winner the honeymoon suite. *sniff.sniff*

How did you and your partner meet?
It all started in 2nd grade, I loved long hair. Kimdra's hair was just that. The
smell of her hair caught my nose as I sat behind her. I'll never forget it. I
followed her all over the school. Long, black, good, smelling hair! She was cute
too and smart. I remember telling my Mother, "Kimdra has long hair," and all I
spoke of was Kimdra. Then unexpectedly, no Kimdra, she left the school. Luck
prevailed and Kimdra returned in 5th grade. I knew then she would become
"My Dream Girl", and she did following our high school graduation.

How did you and your partner get engaged?
A wise man once stated "Luck is When Preparation Meets Opportunity", I started
preparing in 2nd grade for My Dream Girl's engagement. Kimdra was informed she
would be attending Christmas Gala. Little did she know I hired decorators, flew
in flowers, rented 7 suites, and invited family and friends to her Riverfront
Dream. On December 25, 2007, Kimdra entered 7 decorated rooms where poems and
bibles scriptures were read. Five rooms represented the five years we dated, the
sixth room represented my promise, and I proposed in the 7th room with all
guests. View JamesAndKimdra.com.

Why do you and your partner want to win this contest?
We have aspirations of having a memorable wedding with our family in a tropical
ambiance. However, we would like to be able to start saving money for a home. We
want to win this contest to fulfill our destination wedding fantasy, and
concurrently fulfill our dream of owning our first home. We have worked
extremely hard at maintaining our relationship and have always strived to follow
God's planned path for us. A destination wedding would allow us to visit our
dream vacation spot, share our day of happiness with our family, and give
"My Dream Girl" her dream wedding.

Why do you want Jaheim to sing at your wedding reception?
Kimdra has often stated that Jaheim is one of her favorite R&B singers since his
debut album, "Ghetto Love" There for, when we heard about this contest Kimdra
reminded me that she has all of his albums and immediately started playing his
"Making of a Man" album. She told me that hearing Jaheim sing at our wedding
reception would be the ultimate gift and at that moment I knew I had to enter
the contest, so I could fulfill another one of her dreams. For Jaheim to sing at
our wedding would be a tremendous gift to us and our family.

Serena,

I think you should do something special for each of the three couples. You've already helped Kimdra and James.

You were obviously very instrumental in getting James and Kimdra votes. If you really feel bad about tilting the scales in their favor, you should do something nice for Chidonna and Larry as well as Melissa and Lester. The perfect gift to balance the scales would be to get each of the brides the wedding dress of her choice.
Thanks in advance for your consideration!
Sincerely,
Chidonna

Chidonna, great post. Why don't you send that request to Serena. She is sensible, and I would not be surprised if she took you up on that offer.

I did not think about the implications until after the post, but Steve Harvey should make right also on the other couples. They are all winners in my book, anyway. They found true love.
