Tyra vs. Oprah

1tyraversusoprah.jpgCNN explores the question of whether Tyra Banks is the new Oprah? I don't watch either one, except Oprah every once or twice a year when a topic really grabs my attention. As for Tyra's show, I don't have any interest in it, but her success is just as admirable as Oprah's. Both seem to have two different audiences, and Oprah has paved the way for Tyra...so I am wondering, why can't Tyra just do Tyra and Oprah continue to do Oprah? Right now, the similarities I can quickly identify are: both are black businesswomen, charitable, and have talk shows with their names on them. If anything, it seems as if Tyra's media success is more paced with that of a Rachel Ray.

Yes, there is some competition, but Tyra has a long way to go before I would consider her to be on the same level in the media world as The O. WATCH VIDEO

Why can't we all just get along? Why does it have to be Tyra VS. Oprah
Why can't it be Tyra AND Oprah? They are doing their thing and they appeal to different audiences. I hope they both succeed! The talk show world is big enough for both of them.

I watched an Tyra interview the other day, and when the camera tried to get her and an obviously nervous and overweight OPRAH in the same view..OPRAH went flying out of the camera lens before she and tyra could be viewed.."side by side"..it was more than funny, and tyra realized that the big "O" could have won an Olympic 100 yard dash!

Why cant we have two successful African American talk show host without people always putting them against one another. Oprah has opened the door and paved the way for African American talk show host to come. So if Tyra is doing well then thats good, and it shouldn't be looked at as a competition but as an accomplishment for African American women. We are better than that so please please please stop it and give credit where credit is due.
