Florida Deputy Tasers 11 year old Student

| | Comments (4)

1tasergirl.jpgWhat, are they carrying around pediatric taser guns now? A cop can't get an 11 year old under control? Parents can't spank, but cops can tase? Come on, now. Tasered in a class in front of students. She was in an English for Speakers of Other Languages class (ESOL). I can see the suit now, alleging she did not understand the command of the officer.

Moss Park Elementary School, located at 9301 N. Shore Golf Club Blvd in Orlando called police after an 11 year old female student, Thaliamar Jiminez was supposedly out of control, and was accused of spitting on her teachers, and pushing another student into oncoming traffic. The student had punched a cop in the face. Clearly out of control. But to be tasered?

Her mother Sandra Garcia said, "The school knows pretty well that my daughter is like a 5-year-old." Some are coming out on the side of the deputy, saying the girl "deserved it." Apparently, she has a behavior problem. READ MORE...

This could have been the most discipline she has ever had, but do you think cops should be tasering children? I don't think they should be tasering any child.

This is a damn shame. Grown men and women can't subdue an eleven-year old girl without this type of force? Then they need to be working at the mall in the Gap in the back.

This is just ridiculous! And based upon what the mother says, the girl is mentally delayed, which by itself suggests special handling. But I don't give a darn what her mental condition may or may not have been. There can be no legitimate reason that adult police officers needed to use this type of force on an eleven-year old.

It has come to, just don't do your damn job, use your taser. If they need a taser to restrain an eleven-year old, I guess the next adult that requires restraint will be shot!

There is more to this than meets the eye. The officer suffered from a fractured nasal cavity and that child is much larger than an average 11 year old.

This reminds me of students I had to remove from schools because everyone was always "picking on them". Their parents would come to the school in a huff angry because they had to be picked up by CFSA because they were acting an ass at school.

I bet this girl was uncontrollable. The female officer exercised incredible restraint and this bad assed child should have known better. Had her mother and father reared her properly "developmental delay" doesn't equal explosive outburst with psychotic features.

In either case, there was no excuse for this girl to act the way that she did.

That's the problem with most of these "alleged" police brutality and excessive force cases. The perps involved typically deserve the treatment they get as a result of their inability to cooperate and follow instructions. I shudder to think what would have happened if this girl had been in possession of an object that could have been construed as a weapon.

Oh adults can't tackle 11 year olds now? If this was the case, how come they could subdue GROWN adults before tasers were introduced?

What happened to all the training cops went through for "hand-to-hand combat" situations?

BLKseagoat, this type of thinking is the reason cops are gaining monumental powers against civilians, even in peaceful situations.

Man up.

BLKseagoat, she looks like a pretty sizable kid, but her mother claims she has the development of a 5 year old. The amount of voltage coming out of a taser gun, in my opinion is excessive force on an 11 year old. Was the cop her size and couldn't take her down?

I know we are getting a brief summary of details, but when I hear a cop used a taser on a child, who wasn't pointing a gun, knife, or had the cop in a choke hold, it is a bit much. The child does deserve to be disclipined, regardless of her mental capacity.
