Newsweek asks "Is Blackface Ever OK?"

Newsweek takes a look at a question of the touchy subject of white actors portraying black characters in TV and film. Blackface? I think this is strong of a term. We know about the minstrel era, but in the year of 2008 the practice white actors playing black people is still a issue up for debate. I say if it is tasteful and not "minstrelsy" as they term it, there should not be a huge problem. But the underlying continuous problem is black actors/actresses are still not being offered as many roles as their white counterparts, so I can see why people still have a problem with whites portraying blacks, when the argument can be: Why not give that job to a black person?
