What Happened to Pastor Stan's TV Show in Hartford?
While in Hartford, Connecticut last month, taking in some R & R, I noticed Pastor J. Stan McCauley was absent from his midday public access channel program he had, and I kept checking the schedule to find out what happened to his program. His program was unique, where he loaded the Word up on the television screen from his laptop/computer, as he sat in a chair in his office and ministered to his audience right there on the screen from his computer. This is what caught my attention 2 years ago, when I first started watching his program, when I would visit in Hartford. This past summer at the West Indian day parade, he walked up to me with a card, and asked for my vote. He was running for mayor on the Republican ticket. J. Stan McCauley was director of Hartford Public Access Television, and reportedly let go after his run for mayor.
Now the drama unfolded. I was watching another religious based public access program the week before Christmas, called ‘Exposed’. It was disappointing and shocking to find out Rev. Stan was fired, after 25 years of service to the public access channel? Some of the topics which floated around on the Exposed program addressed allegations of sexual harassment with someone who is now his wife and either worked for or had a program there also, retaliation for running for mayor, starting a petition to ouster the board and bring him back. What a mess. I did not know about all of this circling controversy. However, based on the arguments made by the pastor on ‘Exposed,’ he strongly suggests Rev. Stan was wronged, and I hope he gets his job back (if he wants it), and he is back on the air soon.
