Essence magazine interviewed Karith Foster, talk show personality Imus’ co-host and asked about how her parents and friends felt when she landed the job. Foster says her parents weren’t thrilled, friends were “okay", but had a lot of questions. They also asked her about being called a sellout:
“Essence.com: Okay, last question. Someone is going to call you a sellout. What do you have to say about that?
K.F.: Absolutely. I weighed that and thought about that. What outweighed that is when I thought about what good I can do. If people would call me a sellout, I’d have to say they don’t know me at all, and I am sorry they feel that way. I would hope and prefer they would see this as an opportunity to have a form of representation where there previously was none.”

I would not label her a sellout. I agree with her in seizing an opportunity and trying to make a difference. Many people who call her a sellout would probably jump at the opportunity if given the chance, because we all would like to think we can make a difference and have something to offer to change this world.

Black people have yet to address the traitors in our community bc we are too busy waiting for our opportunity to cash/sell out.
typical black behavior
let me guess, youre doing this blog so that you can one day cash in with BET, right?
we're becoming a race of sellouts who publically support sellout acitivity because all we really wanna do is cash in and be white.
nobody wants to be themselves when they sell themselves out
we dont want to black and that is why we will sell for the right price
you say we need to stop and i say, lets start with selling each other for a quick buck
embarasingly disgraceful
to the owner of this blog: YOU NEED TO STOP!

this right here is sellout jargon
you make excuses for sellout behavior while contstantly ignoring the fact that it doesnt take money to love yourself and be true to yourself.
charity starts at home
if you cant be true to your own people and principals all because you looking to individually make a financial comeup, YOU'S A SELLOUT.
now if that's what you are, that's what you are but dont try to make excuses for it
you, my dear, are a sellout
an admitted sellout
and why'd you do it?
for the money because with all this selling out going on, aint nothing gonna change for black people
the only people coming up are the "talented" sellout 10th in DC.
so in case you didnt know, you's a sellout
see there, you learned something new about yourself
